Matthew 5: 1-12
And seeing the multitudes, He went up into a mountain: and when He was set, His disciples came unto Him:
And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying,
“Blessed are the POOR in spirit:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that MOURN:
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the MEEK:
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do HUNGER and THIRST after righteousness:
for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the MERCIFUL:
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the PURE in heart:
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS:
for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are PERSECUTED for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall REVILE you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to [a]ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
